Every year, Dance-Africa enables young people from the UK to travel to Zambia and creatively collaborate with young people from disadvantaged communities. The Dance-Africa project works in partnership with the Chisomo Street-Children’s Centre & Barefeet Youth Arts Festival, Zambia where the dance-theatre performances are showcased.
The group collaborated on a dance-theatre piece that used the story of ‘Gingerella’ to explore issues of racism and xenophobia.
Performing at Barefeet Youth Arts Festival
Using the Avatar story line of uprising to save their environment, this project enabled young people to collaborate on a dance-theatre piece that was showcased at the Barefeet Youth Arts festival.
"The Unseen Child"
The group collaborated on a project exploring ‘the unseen child’ as a theme.
